the october the 1st watchtower has interesting views on the education of jw children.. page 30, in which one jw explains how he ended up in ft service says:.
'we did not associate with our school mates but only with those in the congregation who had good spiritual habits.'.
interesting as this shows judgmentalism and criticism 'even' in the jw congregation.. then on page 31 it explains how parents must offer their children, as early as possible, proper guidance in their choice of school subjects and vocation goals.. 'rather than choose academic subjects that are geared toward a university education, parents and children need to consider courses that are useful in pursuing a theocratic career.'.
They really favor trades schools, or something that could be learned outside of going away to college (4 years).
Although, lately, there's this trend of allowing/encouraging young ones to choose a short career. Going to a close by community college.
The more educated/affluent JWs still do send their children to 4-year colleges, although they try by all means to keep the son/daughter living at home where they can have control.

i did it many times.
first of all, let me say that just about every meeting i attended was a sacrifice for me.
i was a follower, not more.
Once.
I used the excuse of having stomach upset. Good thing I had driven my own vehicle to the meeting.
I stayed like 35 mins into the meeting and then out of the blue said in my mind "screw this!!!" got up and walked out.
Driving home it felt good.

i see the pictures of this starving country and it's a appalling and saddening to see the sea of children in this tragedy.. having said that, what the heck are these people thinking bringing into the world all these children to starve to death???!!!.
along with food, why not also send enough health professionals to educate them about reproduction and its consequences in the midst of their horrible situation???!!!

I care. However, while the going is tough perhaps they should abolish further reproduction or make some sort of 'only 1 child allowed' mandate.

well, my life is about to change over the next week, the anxiety is running high, and the adrenaline is going full blast, i hope i make it .... just a reminder of what has happened ... last summer my wife went to ontario and stayed with her sister, at the time me and her were not doing to well, and while she was there she screwed around on me, and her sister laughed about it.
it's been 11 months, i've did the counselling, and i've tried to forgive her, but i'll tell you all something ...... "it just eats at you everyday, no matter how hard you try.".
so i arrive on saturday, and day 1 will be taking care of this guy, i just hope i don't k--l him and spend the rest of my life in jail.

This guy made no committment towards you. It's your wife towards whom you should be directing all your frustration. Yes, it's all her doing. All her.

here's an interesting idea my brother and i have been discussing when we do parking lot duty during the service meetings.
we've come to the conclusion that this is essentially the last generation of jehovah's witnesses.
i thought you'd have to be young to notice this, but its pretty apparent anywhere we go.
I don't believe there'll ever be a complete fall of the WBTS. They'll just continue to evolve with the times.

The 'diehard' JWs are literally expiring, and with that will come many changes. Young JWs are a totally different breed.

Dancing is a very important part of my Caribbean roots.
Back in the younger years, a guy that not only danced but wasn't a good dancer either didn't get the time of the day from me. The men in my life, no that there were many but, all had to like dancing and be good dancers too.
My husband is an excellent dancer and whenever we go to parties we hardly ever sit down. It's dance, dance, dance the night away!!!
